Here’s To You…

Misses not going to hold the door for me this morning. There is no way you could have known that I was walking towards that door to get into the building so I forgive you. We have only worked together for four years so I will cut you a little slack. You will never hear anyone say that I am a complete gentleman, but I do try to conform to normal standards of social behavior such as holding the door open for people within the door holding zone. Now I know that the zone can be a tricky bastard, but I am sure we can all agree that 10 steps is fair. I actually like to hold the door open for people just outside the zone just to see what path they choose. I can just see those neurons flashing trying to decide if they should run the 15 steps or make me wait with the door open. These are the simple little pleasures that I think more of us need to stop to enjoy. Some of us also need to stop to hold the door open so I don’t have to dig in my pocket for my keys.

I actually don’t like when people hold the door open for me if I am at the far end of the zone. That means I either have to be rude and make them wait, or quicken my pace…..which I hate.
Oh, and who did it? Give me a clue.
One time I work I struggled to get the door open because I was holding a large box. Rather than wave me through or try to hold the door for me so I could get in without elbowing the door to keep it open, the guy slips out and says “Thanks”. I was more than a little pissed. Next time I saw him in the hall walking behind me, I let out a silent stinky.

It was a friend of one of the ladies you work with. Damn her. I would rather not think about your gassy revenge.
